Lore Library
The Lore Library is a collection of short books that can eventually be found at events for patrons to discover. The content of these books are intentionally obscure like scattered puzzle pieces that can be linked together to create a bigger picture while also being easily digestible.
Here you can read the completed Lore Books to learn more about the world of Cross Realm Events and to make theories about any of the mysteries left untold. Please keep in mind that this collection is a work in progress and may be adjusted over time. Click on the name in the list to read them.
The Four Primordials
It is believed that our first Gods came from another universe and created the one we now exist in. Four Gods in charge of the fundamental powers of our universe. We call them Atamach the Builder, Búnlúth the Energist, Nien’brahed the Psychopomp, and Solast the Lightkeeper. These primordials created our beloved Earthly Gods who provide us direct power and wisdom, as they depend on the primordials. Atamach, as his title suggests, creates the very building blocks of our world. Búnlúth creates energy, the life of all things. Nien’brahed creates and transfers our souls and will ultimately judge us in the end. Solast creates all forms of light and directs the shadows to ensure balance.
What is beyond our Earth and into the void is unknown, but many have speculated that there is much to learn from it. There are powers out there that we do not yet understand.
Gods Around Us
Every element comes from a greater power. Some elements are from the gods of the universe whose powers go beyond the cosmos, others are what make up our world that we live in. The gods of our Earth are tangible and fairly easy to understand. We have Carriag who is the rock beneath our feet, Ishkeh is the water that falls from the skies and flows as an ocean, Leothné is the air that we breathe and Beathra is what brings life to all things.
Then we have a fifth god that stands out from the rest, Dree-úkt the Conduit and the God of Magic. Dree-úkt uses the powers of the other gods and channels it into a force of power of his own. The Dwarves claim that Carriag openly forbids all use of magic and anyone who does will lose their Stone Blessing. However, the Elves favor Dree-úkt and use his power in their everyday lives. We do not quite understand why Carriag has forbidden magic, but we do know that stone is the only element we cannot manipulate using arcane arts.
Emergence of the Elves
Year One of the First Age marks the Emergence of the Elves. All Elves originated from the Fae Realm, a parallel dimension with an abundance of magic. They were given a holy mission from their Divine Faerielle, also known as the Mother of Magic, to venture into the mortal realm, repair the damage caused by the Great Calamity, and bring order to the chaos of those lands. The Elves traveled through tears in the veil, emerging on different continents of the mortal plane. What they found were magicless lands and savage creatures.
The Elves then colonized many settlements around the world imposing a hand of authority. These settlements grew into massive magical kingdoms who all follow the guidelines set by the High Elven Council. Through the High Elven Council, all Elven kingdoms are obligated to share the same faith, calendar, fundamental principles and politically function as an Arcane Meritocracy.
What Lurks in the Dark?
The Lúmarin, or Deep Elves, might be the most unique and misunderstood variant of Elves in existence, so much so that there have been debates about whether they are truly Elves or not. Unlike most of the Elven race, they skipped the Emergence. In fact, it seems they did not really have a Fae Realm to emerge from. The historians of the Lúmarin claim that their people got caught in a magical pocket during the Great Calamity, where the veil did not properly form. How exactly their pocket of land wound up a thousand feet under ground is one of our greatest mysteries.
Due to the lack of intact veil in the Deep, magic is abundant and the environment greatly reflects its influence. The fungi grow as large as their Fae Realm counterparts and glow bright enough to provide light for the vegetation that’s grows down there. The day and night cycle in the Deep is opposite to ours due to the mushrooms glowing during the night and dimming during the day.
Lúmarin do not regularly communicate with the High Elven Council, but they do receive information from the Gods through a Mycelium hive mind. They are a highly spiritual people who prefer to stay in the confines of the Deep.
